This was a great news. South Africa too is a powerhouse in BPO business. Last year TeleTech has established an office here. There is a majority of people in this country that speak English and moreover provincial and municipal government too provide full support to its BPO industry. So, it seems that Africa is ready to challenge the Asian nations that has so far solely ruled the BPO sector.

Jess,

It is awesome that you're persistently asking companies for discounts on their software licenses, and you should continue doing so since you have encountered success with companies like Drop Box and Techsoup. Expanding drop box's capacity from 2 gig to 10 gigs is a big deal; I remember 2 gigs was quite restricting when I was putting up HD video files for clients at buildaroo.com. Adobe CS is quite expensive, and it's also great news that you got a discount on the software.

I think its awesome that you think of the amount saved at Samasource as potential money that can be used for wire transfers and training individuals within the third world. I wish you luck in the future in your "inquiring;" I would be happy to join you in this endeavor!

Paul is a testament of how talent is present even in the most dire circumstances, and with opportunities like those offered by Samasource, potentials can be realized. It's amazing how quickly Paul picked up e-mail skills; I look forward to hearing about the results of his present efforts of acquiring a scholarship to U.S. schools.

I like how Mildy’s story isn’t all that different from a scenario that could happen in a workplace here in the States. The people Samasource deals with can be different culturally, but in a working environment, they have just the same desire and drive to succeed as we do.

If Wall Street firms are changing its destination in off shoring their business process, they definitely have made thorough research with this African countries. If this countries are globally-competitive and are giving the same or even better service than the three leading Asian countries. I think Wall Street firms are widening the horizon of the business process outsourcing industry.
